Siemens M65

The Siemens M65 Cellphone is more or less working with Linux. Here are some hints how to use it with it:

  • To access the memory (amount: 11 MB) directly, use SieFS.
  • Accessing the contacts, calendar, todo-list and so on, MultiSync will eventually work. This depends on the variant of the phone.

The M65 has some variants. Mine is variant A112. You can find out your variant by entering '*#06#”, push the 'More' button and scroll down to 'Variant'. There you can although see the firmware version. Be sure to have the newest one! Check on Siemens Mobile for the newest version.

Some things about the cellphone that are not directly connected to Linux, but very useful.

  • The display is really good, so it is a possibilty to load an ebook reader with some books into the memory to read them on the cellphone. For example this or this one.
  • A lot of java games are running on the phone. So have a little fun while waiting for the next train. :-)
